Company Search: Overview

Updated this week

Introduction

Welcome to our tutorial on how to effectively use the Company Search tool to locate businesses in a specific industry and area. This guide will walk you through the process using an example in the landscaping industry, focusing on Jackson, Mississippi.

Setting Up Your Search

To begin, you'll need to set up a new search list. In this scenario, we are creating a list titled "Let's Do Landscaping." This list will help you organize the information you gather during your search.

  1. Create a New List: Start by naming your list. For our example, we will name it "Landscaping."

  2. Select Your Location: Specify the area you are interested in. We are focusing on Jackson, Mississippi.

Utilizing the Search

The search type is an optional feature but can be particularly useful if you are looking for businesses with niche specialties. For example, if you need a landscaper specializing in gas station or hospital projects, you can apply the relevant filter. However, in this instance, we have chosen not to utilize this tool as it may not yield effective results for our search.

Reviewing Search Results

Once your search is complete, the tool will populate the results and automatically enrich the data for your list. Here’s how to proceed:

  1. Check Your List: Review the populated search results. In our case, "lawn care" is one of the results listed.

  2. Email Discovery: Out of the 15 potential businesses found, 11 have associated emails. This data is crucial for direct communication.

  3. Data Enrichment: If needed, you can further enrich this data for more detailed insights.

Exporting Data

After reviewing and enriching your data, you have the option to export it. You can choose to export just the emails or all of the data collected from your search results. This feature is particularly useful for outreach and business development purposes.

In summary, the Company Search tool is a powerful resource for locating and organizing business information within a specific industry and geographic area. By following this guide, you can efficiently set up a search, review enriched data, and export valuable information for further use.
